Playa del Carmen – Digital Nomad Guide
Playa del Carmen stretches along the Riviera Maya where Quinta Avenida runs a pedestrianized spine of mezcalerias, pizzerias, dive shops, and salsa clubs from one end of the original beach town to the other. Ferries to Cozumel leave every hour for the second-largest barrier reef in the world, cenotes scatter inland through the Yucatan jungle, and Tulum ruins sit forty-five minutes south. The expat and digital-nomad population is now genuinely large in Playacar and Centro, co-working spaces multiply each year, and prices have climbed alongside that growth. Sargassum can foul the beaches in season, the original Mexican character has thinned, and the noise of Quinta after dark is not for everyone. Even so, it remains the Caribbean coast's most plug-and-play base, with fiber, flights, and reef on tap.
